Configuring Bring your own Workspace URL (Custom Workspace URL) in Citrix Cloud

In this blog we are going to see how to configure custom workspace URL to access workspace in addition to your cloud.com URL. Requests to this URL will be proxied through our cloud service to fetch the corresponding resources from the original workspace.

Key notes:-
• You will be asked to provide a domain that you own and is available for use.
• Please note that you are responsible for any requirements to use this domain in your local jurisdiction(s), including applicable licenses or permissions.
• You will then need to go to your DNS management portal to create a CNAME record that points to a specific service endpoint that we will provide.
• If your DNS zone has CAA (DNS Certification Authority Authorization) configured, you will also need to include DigiCert as a valid CAA.
• After the DNS and CAA configuration is complete, you will be ready to provision. This process can take up to 24 hours. Your domain will be ready for use once the provision is complete

Navigate to Citrix Cloud Portal and Click on the three line menu or the hamburger menu. Select Workspace Configuration from the list.

You will be redirected to Workspace Configuration page. Under Access tab, navigate to “Custom workspace URL” and Click on “+ Add your own domain”.

The “Add your own domain” page will appear, skip the overview page by clicking on Next.
In the Provide a URL page, give the custom URL for your workspace as shown in the diagram below. Select the check box and Click Next

In the Configure your DNS tab, you will be provided with the azure front door URL. Navigate to your DNS provider and create a CNAME for your record. Click on “Detect CNAME record” once the DNS entry is created.

If you have enabled SAML 2.0 authentication, then you will be asked to configure the settings for SAML. I am skipping it for now as I selected Azure AD as the authentication method. Click Next to continue

In the “Provision your domain” tab, acknowledge the understanding by selecting all the checkboxes in the window. Click on “Provision” to initiate the provisioning.

The custom URL provisioning will take 24 hours to get activated. The Edit option in the “Custom workspace URL ” will be grayed out and a message showing “24 hours to activate” will be displayed.

Once the URL is activated, you will be able to see the Edit Option turned as Green.

You will be able to access your resources using the custom URL.
